**By signing up you are agreeing to the information detailed below. These policies are subject to change. Some changes will be made to this policy in August 2023 to take effect starting September 2023.
What if I'm not sure if I want to commit to lessons?
We offer a free 15-minute trial lesson to help you decide if it is for you. (Package deals do not include a trial lesson). This will give you an opportunity to meet the tutor, ask questions and check your wifi connection for online lessons. No refunds will be given once fees have been received.
What payment methods do you accept?
Card, bank transfer or click the link on the invoice to pay by PayPal (we do not accept cash).
Do I have to pay for a whole year or term at once?
No. Lessons are pre-paid monthly by the 1st of each month. If you opt for a package of 6 lessons or more you pay for it upfront, before the first lesson.
What happens if I decide to stop attending lessons?
If you are signed up for a term, you can opt out anytime by giving us 30 days' notice. There are no refunds once you have paid for the lessons.
What happens if I can't pay on time?
A late fee of €10 may be applied to your account if fees are not paid on time. If for any reason you can't pay on time, please communicate with Rebecca so we can plan accordingly. If fees are repeatedly not paid on time and no effort has been made to communicate with the studio, your slot (which is held for you) may be given to students waiting to join the studio.
Are there any other fees apart from the lesson fee?
Yes. For all term students, there is an annual registration fee of €44 due (this is subject to change). A late fee of 10% may be applied to your account if fees are not paid on time. Some events may be at an additional cost which will be communicated to you at the time.
Grade books and exam fees are separate from studio fees and are paid directly to rockschool https://www.rslawards.com/graded-music-exams-dates-fees/?country=Ireland&instrument=Vocals&exam_type=Video%20Graded%20Certificate
Are there any processing fees when paying online or by card?
Yes. Paypal: A processing fee of 4% applies for online payments. Sumup: A processing fee of 2.75% applies for in-person card payments.
What teacher will I have?
All students who sign up for lessons will work with teachers employed by RK Vocal Studio. You will be assigned a teacher based on availability +/or skill level. If that teacher leaves the business or takes time off, you will be assigned a different teacher employed by RKVS.
What happens if I can't make a lesson?
We ask that you give us at least 24 hours' notice if you can't make a lesson. If for some reason it is not possible to attend an in-person lesson but you are well enough to do an online lesson we can do so using 'Zoom'. If this option is not suitable then you can send us a video of you performing your pieces, technical exercises, and anything else you want to include, and we will review it at your lesson time without you and send you feedback.
Do you offer makeup lessons for missed lessons?
Yes. But only if we have an available timeslot. You must re-book it yourself using the student portal. It must be used within 1 month of the missed lesson. Remember we close for the month of August. As an alternative, you may send us progress updates in video form which we will then review at your lesson without you and send you feedback. We also offer online lessons via Zoom for anyone who can't physically be at their lesson but is well enough to attend an online lesson.
Can I attend my in-person lesson if I am feeling a bit unwell but well enough to attend my lesson?
No. You should stay at home to avoid contagion. You can, however, do your lesson online via 'Zoom'. This policy has been in place since 2017, in order to protect tutors and students from getting sick and losing out on school/college days or work.
What type of things will my/my child's image be used for if I agree to allow photos & videos to be taken at RKVS?
Student images will be used for promotional purposes for the studio on social media, YouTube, and www.rkvocalstudio.comin the form of posters, promotional-type videos, and stories.
Can I sit in on my child's lesson?
Note: It is the responsibility of parents/guardians to ensure students get to and from class safely.
